New to Forum and HRT
« on: November 05, 2018, 04:14:52 PM »

Hi all
New to Forum and recently HRT!! On week 5 of evorel conti patches-prescribed mainly for flushes and aches and pains. First couple weeks didn't notice any difference then next two weeks improvement in flushes-still had them but excessive sweating was alot less than had been but this week back as bad as ever again.  I know it can take a while for full effects of HRT to kick in but wondering if anyone had similar experience and will flushes improve again??
Thanks

Hi Krn11

 :welcomemm: from me too.

Sorry to hear you are still experiencing flushes etc.  Are you post-menopausal ie gone 12 months without natural period before starting the Evorel conti? If so then do try to persevere for a little while longer - no-one can say how you will react so you need to give it time. If no improvement after another few weeks then you might be advised to try taking it cyclically (gives a false period - you will bleed every 4 weeks) just to see if there is any difference between the two parts of the HRT (you take Oestrogen only patch for half the month when using Evorel sequi). Some women continue to experience flushes on the progestogen part of the HRT and if you are having it all the time due to it being a conti product - they may continue.

See how you get on and then if no improvement then ask again and we can suggest differnet products. The only way to get a higher dose patch is by having separate oestrogen and progestogen.

Fingers crossed it will eventually work consistently so that you feel better most of the time :)
