The doctor under discussion also pioneered lumpectomies and was hugely pilloried by his colleagues at the time. He's well ahead of the game here. Best thing to do is buy the book . I've a few friends suffering terribly with menapause  having had breast cancer and don't sleep since being taken off hrt . Not sleeping properly causes major health problems. They have been offered anti depressants but don't want to take them .

I bought and am currently reading the book.  It is worth reading and very informative.

Agree AgathaC - if she came out and said there could have been all these other contributory factors as well as HRT she would earn more respect. Perhaps it was the case that being an overweight smoker she should never have been on HRT in the first place.

Or, more specifically, being overweight she should have been on a transdermal HRT not a tablet.  The smoking of course won't help and the penchant for a glass of red that she probably has.
