Vaginal atrophy mimics urine infection-type symptoms really well.  It is HIGH time that GPs are aware of this and stop prescribing ABs but give ladies appropriate treatment for VA!

I really can't see why GP's are happy to hand out AB's almost like sweets in preference to HRT. In a similar way giving antidepressants when HRT is more suitable.

Possibly but they know the risks of over prescribing AB's. On a different note, do you know whether Vagifem ordered online from Superdrug (or similar supplier) is exactly the same product as we can get from the GP? I have never ordered any medication online.

I got vagifem from Superdrug and it's the same as the one I got from gp. Costs £40 though.

Thanks Blot. Yes I have seen the price and would prefer not to have to do it that way!
