Milk of Magnesia in liquid form is very useful.  As are the chewy sweets.

I took high dose Magnesium tablets as they ease cough reflex.  They did work, both by stopping the cough and increasing bowel actions.  I really need to look the box out again as I am now into my 6th week of coughing.

But I don't want to be caught 'short' away from home  :-\
