Evorel conti paches
« on: March 14, 2019, 12:38:45 PM »

Hello ladies, I started evorel conti patches about 6 months ago. Great! Helped with hot flushes, va, sleep.
Last month, having not had a period for a couple of years, had a period from hell!
By pure coincidence during period, my GP rang about something else, & I mentioned it to him.
He said stop the patches immediately i.e rip the one off & see him in 6 weeks.
2 weeks down the line, my period stopped, got awful va & just feel rotten.
Has anyone else been told this, or should I just start putting the patches on again & ignore him????
Thanks x

Bleeding can happen during first 6 months of starting any new hrt. Bleeding after 6 months needs investigating.

We're you post menopause when you started the Evorel Conti? X

Hi Dotty,
I hadn't had a period for about a year and was 55.
The main problem I have is burning mouth syndrome & va.
The evorel conti didn't help the bms but did help the va.

Does anyone know of any non-prescription treatment for va?
I am really uncomfortable & could do with a quick result!

I am assuming we are talking about vulval soreness and not bladder symptoms here? Any of the Yes products, they have no unnecessary additives. Also Olive & Bee, just beeswax and olive oil. Or you could try organic coconut oil or Emu oil. But you do need local oestrogen to get on top of things, otherwise it will just get worse. Moisturisers would only be a sort of sticking plaster. Beware OTC products with lots of nasty chemicals which can irritate.

Not thick at all Lucyjo, nothing counts as thick here! Local oestrogen is prescription only.
