Utrogestan 200mg capsule
«

I have recently been prescribed a new hrt regime after a consult at meno clinic. Previously I was taking utrogestan orally for 12 days (days 15-26) and these where 2 x 100mg capsules but my new prescription is a 200mg capsule to insert vaginaly with an applicator, also to take for 14 days starting on 1st of calender month.
Is anyone else taking utrogestan this way ?
From what I've read on here I couldn't find anyone else or find any threads on it

Hi Florence,
I am on my first cycle using Uterogestan (2x100mcg capsules) pv at night. (I didn't know they mDe 200mcg capsules..it would make life easier).
As Cassie says I only use if for 12 days a month.
So far I'm preferring this method to the oral route, I was getting a lot of anxiety sx, feeling sedated before, so far this hasn't happened pv.
Bit of a faff but at least it's only for 12 days ;)x

I didn't know they did 200mg capsules either, and I also thought it was for 12 days. I've checked the letter from the consultant and it's definitely for 14 days. I'm not starting it until the 1st of may so I will just have to see how it goes.
My main symptom is anxiety so I'm hoping it doesn't make it worse !

Hopefully not Florence, taking it orally made my anxiety worse but pv has definitely reduced those sx.
Good luck x

Florence69 was it a private meno clinic you attended?
Can you tell me the exact name of the capsule and are you 9n oest4ogen patch too.
I'm wondering if my GP can prescribe this method.
I'm struggling with spotting on a full conti patch.

They look exactly the same as the Utro 100mg but are just bigger, I couldnt handle the 200mg, was too strong, gave me terrible tinnitus.

Cassie does that mean you just manage on 100mg. No way do I need worse tinnitus than I have already.
