Has anyone attended Dr Wilkinson's clinic before?  Any reviews/words of advice gratefully received.  I was going to attend the clinic at Leeds Nuffield hospital, but after doing a few searches over the weekend, my understanding is that Dr Ayres won't contemplate prescribing Testosterone?  I'm not sure whether it's something that I'm going to need, but I'd prefer to attend a clinic where they're prepared to consider all options!

From what I've read you are right about Dr Ayres.

I read that too so have decided to bite the bullet and travel a long way to Dr Louise Newson who uses testosterone herself. It will be very difficult but I couldn't find anyone closer and I've read very good things about her. She seems passionate about helping women struggling with menopausal symptoms

It's a long wait for an appointment with Dr Newson.

That was my first choice, but when I tried to make an appointment they were very prompt, but sent me and email "Please register at www.newsonhealth.co.uk for our new clinic opening late Spring/early Summer in Stratford upon Avon as our hospital clinic is currently at full capacity."

Oh that's a shame. I have had to wait a while for my appointment but waiting felt preferable to be sure all three hormones would be considered. I'm really struggling but want the best chance to improve things. Hopefully somebody will be along to recommend somebody else who will prescribe testosterone but if not would waiting for the new clinic to open be a possibility? I think I read it's imminent.

It's ridiculous that is so difficult for us  to accesss treatment when men will soon be able to purchase viagra over the counter in boots. After all the testosterone treatment for menopause  is to improve multiple things including libido.

Exactly the same here Annie lol my meno consultant advised me not to keep the nhs gynie appointment because it's a gp with special interest in women's health and he's not as competent in meno field but I'm going to cost the buggers money now,I will be interested now to see exactly what does happen if I do get an appointment on the nhs.x

Does Mr/Dr Parsons consider testosterone as well as oestrogen?

Hi bugalugs I don't know the answer to that one but you could email him and ask him he's very friendly,if you google Tony Parsons at Nuffield health Coventry it'll give you his email address.

Hi there, I tried to get an appointment with Dr Newson but there was a 5-month wait. They suggested Dr Wilkinson and I got an appointment with her in Chester. I thought she was really good and thorough. She has just prescribed testosterone for me but I was under-treated with oestrogen so I had to get that sorted first, and then I had blood tests to determine my testosterone, SHBG and free androgen index.

Thank you.  I have an appointment at he Chester clinic and am booked in with my own Dr. Next week to ask for blood tests - they are normally really good on the rare occasions that I need to go, so I am hoping that they won't be sniffy about this request!
