Louise newsom spreading the right messages
« on: February 04, 2018, 11:19:37 AM »

Hope this is allowed admin....
Tweet from @mymenopausedr (Louise Newsom) “Yesterday I ran a three hour teaching session for 100 GPs organised by @Mediconf - the feedback was very positive and many GPs told me they will change the way they manage menopausal women in their practice as a result of this teaching session. Worth the hard work! @rcgp @pcwhf”

Great news now all they have to do is roll it out over the rest of the uk,I really don't understand why it's takin* so long to filter through to gps surgery's.if that's what can be achieved in one day at one session by one expert, what's everyone else doing.

? @Mediconf ? have what interest exactly?

Tnx for posting!  Sadly she seems to be working alone as an educator  :-\

I wonder what the age range of the GPs happened to be and how they were chosen?  As there is a lot of net-working in the medical profession, hopefully those that took on board problems that menopause ladies come up against, will spread the information.  It should of course be part of the over-all GP Training Scene!

This is great Optimist  thanks for posting - I see you are following the same on twitter as I am - I saw this too and thought YES!!!! Education education education.... (yes it is defo fine to post anythng educational - it's just commerical links eg to menopause/herbal products or ultra-promotion of particular brands/websites that's not allowed :)

CLKD http://www.mediconf.co.uk/ - this is a fantastic example of what is being done to educate GPs - absolutely amazing - "little steps"  - well actually quite big ones :). She is not working alone - Dr Currie, British Menopause Society, Women's Health  Concern, Prof Studd. Nick Panay etc etc

Hello ladies.

Some of you may remember that Louise Newson was interviewed on Woman's Hour recently and said that she is doing well now because she is taking HRT and is consequently symptom free.  It seems only fair that all women have access to the same treatment.

Wishing everyone well.

Interestingly Hurdity I signed up to Meg Matthews email news letter and today it was about libido...low and behold Sylk advertised as the cure all to a woman's loss of libido!! Minimal mention of the low mood, anxiety, fatigue, weight gain (the list is endless) that often causes loss of libido. I'm surprised that Louise Newson would be endorsing this also without explaining a lot more about causes and treatments! Even a link to a free sample... desperate women may see this and wonder if that is the wonder treatment without exploring other options also. Just my thoughts.
