Lubricant
« on: September 11, 2017, 03:39:26 PM »

Hello Ladies,
I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on vaginal lubricant...I have tried Sylk but find it dries very quickly and also seems to irritate me a bit. Sylk was the lubricant my GP prescribed me and I stupidly filled the prescription not realising it was widely available online at a cheaper price! Therefore, I was looking at Amazon and there are just so many available and the reviews differ and of course I'm drawn to the negative reviews.
Thought it best to ask here.
Many thanks,
Snooze

Thanks Ladies! Just had trouble logging back in as I seem to have used 3 o's in Snooze rather than 2!

I have found Yes on Amazon, is that where you all get yours from? There are different types so am I best ordering the water based one?

The water- based is available on prescription. You can also get some free samples if you contact them via their website.  :) It's also available at Holland and Barrett, Boots will order it and then there's Ebay and also Amazon, as you said. Oh and their own website  of course!  :)

Thanks Jenna. I will try H&B or Boots I think as some reviews state they don't believe it to be the genuine product, so that's a bit concerning.

It is indeed! And don't forget if you contact Yes they will send you free samples of the other types to try. Have a read on their website as well, as there is a lot of very helpful info there:

Hi Jenna,
Thanks for the link but I couldn't seem to find where you asked for free samples but after much searching, I found it in this link which I will post in case any other ladies are interested.

Hello Snoooze
I've just found YES lube and found it really great
I bought one of their taster packs on Amazon and their website suggested a 'double glide' using the oil based for long lasting-ness and top up with the water based product as and when - had the chance to test drive it last week and it worked well for me and my lover during and for me there was no irritation at all after ;) :D

The oil based lasted a long time and felt good with no irritation of my vagina or vulva
the oil based one is not condom compatible if that's a consideration.

I've been using the oil based product as a vaginal moisturiser and it feels really nice - there are also applicator packs so that lube/moisturiser can be placed high up the vagina - which is great but I guess would work out pricey

I read on their website that they do a vaginal moisturiser that is available on NHS so next time I need a new HRT prescription I am going to ask if I can have that prescribed too

good luck with trying out options

That's helpful, thanks Miss-Shelf.

I'm still waiting for my free sample to arrive from YES and if I like it I will order the taster pack as I saw that online.
