I am not on HRT.

I get this feeling of floating, and I get migraines around the time I would have been due to have a period, which last 3-5 days, I am also getting palpitations again (which I hope had stopped) the doctor has put me on amitriptyline 30mg this is supposed to keep the migraines from coming and help me sleep but I'm getting about 3 hours a night. And I am getting a lot of joint pain. I have only been a few months without a period and I am 54. Anyone help with a solution as the doctor just wants to keep increasing my amitriptyline 😞😞

Beta blockers would be less potent or you could try HRT.

Your hormonal changes are likely causing the migraines and palps. It's very common and is worse in peri due to the volatility but at least your period gap is signalling you're heading out of peri.

Horrible to experience all the same!
