How easy is it really to be conned on the 'phone or computer? There's a lot in the News this week about being 'scam aware' …….. I try to remember when people phone cold to tell them that our number is on the Telephone Preference Service ……. Himself often puts the 'phone down.
A few years ago he answered and a woman asked him to give his security details for a Bank we have never been involved with. "You phoned me so you know exactly who I am, you have my 'phone number and apparently details of my Bank Account so why do you want me to tell you anything?" She didn't take the hint, kept on at him to provide personal details ……. but she didn't get any.
Apparently the recent scam is that the caller is from "New Scotland Yard" ….. yeah right, this is Battersea Horses Retreat ……
