I don't think it's often that a serious injury happens in Competition  :-\ - would have had an effect on other performers probably?

You wouldn't have done well with the cycling yesterday then  ;D

Is swimming any safer?  Artistic gymnastics this afternoon.

Rowing postponed for a few hours due to several boats sinking during training earlier.  Does anyone think that horses should be carted around the World  :-\ - looks an odd sort of thing to do !

I dont like the Olympics when it comes from a country with a big time difference  :-\

Unless you can/are prepared to stay up to watch it live now adays there's so much media you cant really avoid the results before seeing the replays next morning !  >:(

Years ago this wasnt so much an issue  ::)

I totally agree dazned, it's not the same when you can't watch live. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the 2020 Olympics is from Japan and I think the time difference is even worse  :'(

Watching the london Olympics and every seat at every venue was full and the cycling and marathon routes were lined with spectators I think it should be permanently in the UK , no rotten time difference either  ;D

I think it should return to Athens, with every participating country paying something towards up-keep.  The Venues could then be used all the while.

Apparently the rowing events have been put back to suit NBC?

2 medals - do tell!

The opening ceremony was on too late for me to watch and I suspect most people across Europe, the thing that annoyed me was the USA didn't show it live  >:( so why couldn't they have started a couple of hours earlier, it's dark in Rio quite early so the fireworks could still have gone ahead in the dark.

It is what it is!  As it is some events will be on 'catch up' due to there being plenty to watch  ::)

That poor French gymnast with the broken tibia was dropped off the stretcher on the way to the Ambulance  :o - I feel a personal claim coming on!

How lovely: a Games Maker love story.  A couple volunteered to London and were put into the pool area, they fell in love and are still so obviously besotted as they volunteer in Rio - and are talking about doing the Winter Games and onwards  :)

We watched the gymnastics last night - it's a pity team GB didn't get a medal, but it was still very enjoyable.

I'm getting concerned about the murky green colour of the diving pool though. I know they say it's not harmful, but really?! I'm assuming it's caused by algae?
