A couple of days ago, my left ear decided to block.  Since then, it's unblocked and re-blocked twice.  Now, I know this is a very common complaint but it's a bit of a nightmare for me at this time of year, because between now and Christmas, I've got a lot of playing to do and I need my ears!!    (e.g. over the next week+, I'm playing four times - you see my point!)  I can't start applying drops yet because Hubby tells me (from experience) that they take several days to work and they make things completely gummed up before this can happen.  After next week, there's a bit of a gap before the actual Christmas services, so I'll get busy with the drops then, as there should be just enough time.  I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for this coming week and not touch my left ear, even if I need to.  I haven't slept much since about 5am this morning - my ear had just unblocked and I didn't want the pressure from my pillow to gum it up again.  Last night was fun - I played for a choir rehearsal - they were on my gummed-up side and I could hardly hear them!   Oh joy!

Ah - the joy of the Christmas season with ear problems 

Mine have been playing up and it is not until I am trying to sing with my friends, that I realise I can't hear them properly.  They have been itching like mad again and went all weepy from the scratcing.  I put some sodium bicarbonate drops in them, which made them worse for a while, but with the help of some ibuprofen, they are ok again now.

I am taping my hands to my sides.

I have eczema in my ears leading to constant infection the only thing that clears it is otomize on prescription its an antibiotic and steroid spray and works quicky

I have been recommended Sofradex by a friend with a hearing aid - it appears to be something similar.  It is just a matter of whether it is worth the 2-3 week wait to see someone who can prescribe it.

Mine have been problematic in recent weeks, bunged-up feeling but no wax .  I think that my eustachion tubes have narrowed and when I lay on that side the channel closes.  Sometimes a good wriggle clears it, others the ear clears then immediately blocks.  I have to tell Himself to pause whilst I give the ear a good wriggle

I was prescribed sofradex dahliagirl as the ENT specialist says its better than otimize but I had an allergic reaction to it my ears were burning and sore but I have heard that's unusual and it normally works great

I had better watch out for that - I seem to be developing allergies/intollerences all over the place 

Ears good at the moment.  Hands well away.  My nose and sinuses are playing up now.
