Tablets V Patches Personal Experiance
« on: August 19, 2015, 03:28:10 PM »

Hi - Looking for some guidance with regards patches V tablets. I appreciate patches are a safer option but has anyone felt better on the Estragon tablets rather than the patches.

I know from personal experience I am better with estriodol rather than estriodol valeret (not sure what the difference is) and that some patches are made from soya and some from yam.

Many thanks Wx

What about Oestrogel? I have used this for many years and I love it because I have been able to adjust the dose according to my needs. I just apply it to my inner thigh each evening after my shower before I go to sleep - you just have to give it 10 mins to dry before covering the legs.  Many women love the patches though.
I think it's progesterone that is made from Wild Yams and I believe that is in Utrogestan but hopefully someone who is more in the know will tell you more about that. DG x

Hi Dancingirl,

I have been using Oestrogel for 3 years (4 pumps) and It appears to have stopped working or Im not absorbing anymore. I found it good initially but I need to explore other methods in a bid to get some quality of life.

Thanks for your advice Wx

Hi Warwick01

I have used patches for years now and find them brilliant I did increase my dose recently and couldn't get a patch in the progesterone part so had tablets, they caused stomach problems so found another doctor who advised I could cut the patches in half to make correct dose and so I stopped the tablets, they were Northestone ones, the patch ingredients are the same but do not go through the stomach.

A friend of mine was on tablets for 20 years and had no problems on them.

Hi Warwick

I felt better on estogen pills than patches. I think the reason for this is that the pill form is a higher dose. With Evorel 50 I felt I still had peri fluctuations.

If you haven't already, I'd consider the gel as I think it's the form most ladies on here seem to prefer - I don't know that for sure though, just my perception. X
