Didn't have my camera procedure thingy on the 1st October because I was unwell.
Just getting over a bout of laryngitis.
New appointment this Thursday.
Haven't had the horrible heartburn since taking the omeprazole but have had uncomfortable tummy some days.

Hi Dyan

Only just caught up, sorry!

Hubby had this procedure and was fine. He also takes Omeprazole which do help.

Best to be sedated, hope all goes well. Sending love & hugs PN x x

Update: had gastroscopy last night. Went very well, although I was very nervous up til I'd had the sedation. All I remember is the camera coming out, but as I was so relaxed I didn't  panic, and hearing the nurse say,"it's all done" :)
According to DH I was gone for 45 minutes but it only seemed like 2.
The result is that  I have a slow digestive tract. Despite having to fast for 7 hours, my stomach was still full :-\
There were no signs of Barrett's disease( pre- cancer), ulcers or burns in my stomach but I'm still to take omeprazole daily as this helps with the heartburn.
I am so relieved.
I left hospital around 9pm after tucking into a sandwich washed down with a nice cup of tea ;)
Feeling fine this morning but can't drive for 24 hours so won't be going anywhere.I'll just take it easy in front of the telly and DD can bring me a cuppa or two, oooooo! and maybe a chocolate biccie.......or two  ;) ;D

 :thankyou: sparkle.
Oh I did enjoy that cuppa ;D
I've always had a funny stomach and since having had children my bowels have been sluggish.
I can go days without going and then go 2 /3 days in a row ::)

I have been thinking about you a lot.  You survived  :medal:

My GP gave me Motillium (I think) that supposedly shoves food from the stomach into the digestive tract faster.  It might be worth while having a chat about what to take to encourage the gut to work properly, for me it had stopped almost completely. I felt SO ill I was suicidal  :'(.  He gave me Colpermin and the above ……. Colpermin to get rid of any upper gut wind.  I had to swallow both within an hour of my main meals.

Due to anorexic-type Life style i.e. I didn't eat much for years, my gut spasm had simply stopped pushing …….

I've not eaten much today although I have eaten 'well' I can feel background heartburn  :-\

I did find that if DH rubbed from my belly button downwards it would shift things.  We could see the wind moving  ::) …….  :o.  It didn't matter when I ate though; little and often or hardly at all.
