I'm still awake.  I fall asleep early and then wake up again.  Just can't sleep right through the night.

The trick for me, toffeecushion, was to start going to bed later. I rarely go to bed before 12.30 and the alarm is set for 6.15 but i'm usually awake from 5.30ish which doesn't seem too early. I do wake quite a few times in the night but go back to sleep within a few minutes. It's horrible falling asleep early and then waking up properly for hours.

It was a long, long night last night. I couldn't sleep much because of this virus/cold.  I'm fortunate that I don't often get viruses, but when I do I seem to get it bad. I'm twitchy though as the last time I had a virus, it developed into a chest infection and asthma and necessitated a hospital stay. If I can get through this without any problems, then I can relax about the whole experience. I've upped my medication as a precaution. Today is a duvet/pj/TV day.

Whoops forgot to report in! What time did you go to bed toffeecushion? I went around 1 as usual but only woke up a few times. Hope you get some good sleep soon.

I crawled out of my bath and into bed with a Lemsip at 10.30 …….. didn't get out in the night as I slept heavily.  Up at 9.00 a.m. already looking forwards to my evening bath.  Blasted cough!  :-X

My sleep is up the wall.  I could fall asleep by 6pm if I wanted.  I try to stay awake till 9.30ish and I have to be up for 5am.  But I just can't sleep through the night, I wake several times throughout the night.  Felt shattered this morning.  When I get home from work I haven't got any energy at all.

So why not sleep when you feel like it?  If I try not to sleep I feel really sick.  Usually if I sleep in the day I don't dream either although if I wake suddenly, i can feel weird for a while  ::)

In bed, on here >wave<

Really feel for you toffeecushion. I've never been a good sleeper - have always hated sleep to be honest. My mum always said that I was too afraid of missing something! I am used to waking up in the night. 5 is really early. I get up around 6. As long as I am in bed for five hours I can cope. I drive everyone mad in the mornings as I'm a wide-awake-straight-away kind of person and forget that others take a while to come to.  ;D Not sure what to suggest!

CLKD - sleeping in the day is ok.. but my boss doesn't seem to approve!

I nearly got sacked twice for falling asleep at work. Once was standing up....quite a knack I think and once with my head on a table  ;D. Two different jobs.....in my defence I was young.  ;D

Now I actively try not to sleep in the day as I want to try to have a good sleeping pattern. If I start to nod off in the evening hubby has strict instructions to waken me up right away.
The only time I sleep in the day is when I'm not well. Otherwise I really try and wait until bedtime.
