Hello. I have had bladder sensation back for 10 days. The feeling is it was bruising from the cystoscopy. I have a Doppler scan ultrasound on Wednesday to check for pelvic venous congestion & then the London pain clinic the following Monday.

Has the pain gone now or are you still uncomfortable?

Hello the pain is less but still there. Went for scan today to see if I had pelvic venous congestion. No vein proble. But they said there was thickening of the urethra and base of bladder & have referred me to see a lady who specialises in hormones. I also have face pain from clenching which is getting worse. Could this all be the menopause?

I too was wondering about you recently.  Stress can cause tension in the facial muscles.  Do you have to wait long for the appt.?

Hello. I'm going to try & call today & use my husbands health insurance. I wore a night guard last night. I don't know how to stop it. what a mess to be in. My face & head feel sore :( can't my body give me a rest when I'm asleep! Any one have any suggestions re teeth grinding.

Thank you for all your support. Been a horrible journey but hope the hormone/woman's gynaecologist will be able to help.

Hi Peterspots, when I went through a few months of meno misery a few years ago - insomnia, joint pains, anxiety etc.....I was left with dreadful facial pain from jaw clenching and teeth grinding. In fact, this sounds quite ridiculous now, one day I took myself off to A&E and told them I had rabies (I had been googling and it is one of the symptoms). I saw a physio who confirmed that I was grinding my teeth. It did go as I slowly relaxed more but it did take a while, have you tried relaxation tapes etc. your body is still on red-alert!

Judith57 I have been really good at not crying lately but the tears are threatening to come out after your post. Are we twins?

Hi Peterspots - I don't grind my teeth but when I lie in bed at night trying to go to sleep I sometimes become conscious that my whole mouth and jaw is completely tense and tight and once I become aware of this I just let it all go and make my cheeks and face become all floppy and then I become relaxed!

If your hands and your face/jaw are tense and clenched then you can't relax to try to focus on these areas if you can to let your body relax if possible  :)

Oh dear, I didn't want to make you cry - just to assure you that I have been there and it does go. I think I am twins with a lot of people on this forum!

A gum guard is very good ...if you didnt want to go to the dentist then chemist shops sell them.

Also try and be aware of where your tongue is in your mouth. It should sit behind the top teeth and not the bottom. It's much harder for you to clench your jaw if the tongue is in the right position.

I also clench my jaw at night and end up with pain up the side of my face. I rub in a little Ibuprofen gel around my jaw and it really helps.

My husband is a dreadful night-time teeth grinder. He has to wear a guard supplied from his dentist but never does! Consequently he has worn down two sets of crowns over the last ten years.  It's not just meno that causes this.

Hello, I am going to see Sorva Whitcroft today with the hope of help with my pelvic problem & maybe the constant pressure in my face (I know this one is less likely) has anyone seen her?
