Toffeecushion- only just seen this thread.
I have diagnosed OCD. Had it from about the age of 5 but only diagnosed 11 years ago.
I take fluoxetine for it and have had therapy to learn to manage it.
Certain stresses  &  life events will trigger it.
I've recently got over an episode since the death of my brother.
I have found that the menopause can trigger it also.

Ju Ju one thing I am grateful for is that, as yet, I don't seem to really get the tiredness that so many women experience at menopause. Instead when I am 'bad' I get this nervous energy which makes me feel jittery and on edge so I tidy, tidy, tidy to try and get rid of it. Basically it's adrenaline being released into my system in error thanks to the 'fight or flight' response which is alos being triggered erronneously  ::)

My Mum can always tell when my anxiety is bad because my house is so immaculately tidy  ::)

I'm not ignoring the comment I made and your responses, but thinking about how to explain without being too long winded  ::) - I may open another thread ……….
