Hi ladies,

So yesterday I had the cystoscopy performed and all was normal.  Now my GYN can perhaps agree with me that I do indeed have vaginal atrophy and nothing wrong with my bladder or anything else down there. Why must they put us through so much?  I had a CAT scan too and that was clear.  I am grateful.

After my cystoscopy yesterday I have burning with urination and I had some brown spotting and one time I wiped pink blood. NOT a lot thankfully, but some. So now I am scared. I don't get periods anymore so I know this isn't a period. Has anyone else had blood after their cystoscopy and if so, is it normal and how long did it last?

I had a cystoscopy a couple of years ago & did get some stinging & burning afterwards, but I can't remember any bleeding.
Are you saying that the bleeding is showing in your urine?
I would monitor for a day or so & if it's still happening phone your docs surgery for advice.

My best friend had one two weeks ago and she had slight bleeding they told her to expect some ,also slight burning and stinging,you should be fine just monitor it.

Thank you for your reply. It isn't in my urine it is just a little brown spotting on my panty liner and one time I wiped a little pink blood. I called my doctor's nurse and she wasn't alarmed. She said if it gets heavy to call her back. So far so good but I am scared.

Glad it all went well and has put your mind at rest re other problems.

I had a cystoscopy last year and had slight burning and bright red bleeding for a day or so but it soon calmed down.

Thank you so much. I am still having a little pain but the bleeding has stopped thank God! I am still nervous though every time I go to the bathroom that it will bleed again.

Hi Mich. Didn't you get a leaflet telling you what to expect afterwards? It makes me so annoyed that we aren't given the information we need! The NHS guidelines do state that some bleeding afterwards is normal. You can read it here http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Cystoscopy/Pages/Recovery.aspx

Thank you! How about tissue - my bleeding stopped but now I feel as if I have blood clots during a bad period 'rolling down'...you know that sensation we women get before we pass a blood clot from a period? I have that and then I will pass some flakes of tissue. No blood. Very odd.
