Because ………… historically the name isn't included in the Royal 'line' and it will detract from the child's up-bringing in constant comparisons etc..

It may not be a good first/Christian name but surely Diana can be included somewhere  :-\ :-\

Alice Victoria Diana Windsor.  If they want Diana they will have it, they are making progress in changing the monarchy.

Lovely news and from the brief glimpse she looks like her big brother.

Like Diana or not she was Williams mum and if he wants her name for his daughter then so be it. I don't think William is influenced by many and that's great with me.

My kids names include parents who have passed away. It just seemed the right....and proper thing to do.
