Woke up this morning with throbbing pain.  Eventually went to dentist.  Apparently not infected and not dry socket.  They removed debris from site and packed it.  Pain went away for a few hours but now starting to throb again.  Will take pain killers and try not to worry - easier said than done! And it's my birthday tomorrow - and we are supposed to be exchanging contracts on house sale but hasn't happened.  Life is getting a little too stressful.  Thank goodness hormones are a little settled at the moment - no period since before Christmas.

Gum still sore!  Still taking painkillers morning and evening.  Worse after eating.

Also your jaw may well be stiff and sore following extraction  ::) - do you have to go back to the Dentist?

I had an extraction on friday afternoon, it was a front tooth and dentist put the temporary plate in straightaway. I have followed instructions to the book and yesterday i was thinking how straightforward it was.

Today it has been a nightmare, throbbing pain and strange taste in my mouth. I am salt rinsing but am worried its a dry socket.

Will be on the phone at 8am tomorrow if sleep is hard tonight. There shouldn'tbe a charge as its within 3 months of initial treatment

Hi Milly,  Hope you have been able to see your dentist today!  I have just been back again and had my extraction site repacked.  Still hurts loads though :(

No I haven't.

I phoned this morning and was told no appointments, explained my position and they said to get some cordysol mouthwash and continue with that...I have an appointment for tomorrow morning.

It does feel slightly better but still hurting. When I look at the site I can see whitish tissue by the hole, dont know if this is normal or not. Also the side of my face hurts.

I have some antibiotics here from an infection last year... Dont know whether to pop one of those!

The whitish tissue is a good sign - that is how it looks when starting to heal.  Hang in there til tomorrow!!  Once you have seen dentist they can advise and at least you will then know what is happening.  Really feel for you!!  It will get better - or so I keep telling myself !! :-\

Which isn't really huge  ;) - Cordysyl I think my Dentist recommended but not to be used once healing had taken place …..

Pain relief required?

Yes I'm taking paracetamol and nurofen but less today.

Just feel something is not quite right, temples and cheekbones ache, but maybe thats the health anxiety..!

Maybe it's because you've had your jaw pulled around, plus a needle for LA ? and a tooth removed?  ;)
