Obviously something about men & doctors. Daughter says women go more often because they like to moan. Men don't moan in the same way. I beg to differ. They moan, but do nowt about it.  ;)

Women know that they have the World, her husband and his dog to 'keep going' so we go to the GP sooner rather than later  ;) ……… however, I have no sympathy for those who have symptoms but don't seek advice, either from their GP or Pharmacist ……..

Hubby went for ECG this morning. They also did blood tests. One is for cholesterol. Results for that one will be interesting, as he eats way too much cheese. His BP was borderline again. I told  him he needs to take better care of himself. But it has fallen on deaf ears. Chances are if his cholesterol is high he'll find out tomorrow, Monday at the latest.

I tell mine 'you are a big boy now but don't expect me to sit by the bed when you aren't taking care of yourself now'  ;)

I can mutter for England  ;D

I have given up with OH about cholesterol and cheese. He levels are very high, won't take statins, his is type that is naturally high and inherited.

There has been a lot of new research saying that its sugar and stress that raises cholesterol and saturated fats are not as bad as once thought. I get this quoted at me a lot by OH , the problem is he has a very sweet tooth too  ::)

Healthy fats are most important though, and fish oils bring down cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Benecol has also been proven to help too.

If it was a little of what he fancies, it would be fine.  We've all nagged him for ages about his cheese consumption.  He's always eaten cheese in excess as long as I've known him. He's already refusing to take statins, if he needs them that is. I'm the same mind you. Would rather lower levels naturally.

Well he got the phone call this morning. Not a happy bunny. Another blood test, a fasting one this time to be done next week. He then has to visit GP week after.  He had a bit of a go at receptionist about getting all this done, when he hasn't asked for it. He only went with a ganglion on his thumb.

They are just doing what they are supposed to. I take it the results are not what the GP wanted to see.
Hopefully if they are very high the GP might convince him to change his ways.

What is it with men who think they are invincible.....until something goes wrong.  ::)

Told to hammer it with family bible!  ;D  Alternative is minor op, which guess what, he's refused!

He just needs to exercise more, eat a bit less. That's how I did it & am doing again.

It does work CG. YouTube have a few clips of it being done. Hubby did mine for me the first time, it came back a bit smaller a couple of times and I did it myself. It nips a bit but nothing you can't cope with.
It needs a bit of a thump though.

The relief when it was done and I could move my wrist properly again.

Give it a go.....he will thank you for it after he gets over the shock  ;D

I've offered. Maybe not the family bible, but got a good few big books in the house. My family bible is somewhere in the loft & actually quite small. Was my grandmother's and her mother's before that. Leather bound with very thin pages. Of course there's always a mallet!  ;D
