Hi All
slowly going out of my mind with worry, so thought I'd post to get it off my chest.
In July went to docs as I seemed to be going to the toilet (bowels) more regular, she did some blood tests and poo samples, all fine except I was anaemic and as I hadn't had a period since January she sent me for 2 cameras one down my throat and one into my bowel, both came back clear but I was still anaemic.  I then had a couple of periods one at end of July and end of August, nothing since,  so had a CT scan on my stomach (September) all clear except they'd seen some cysts on my ovaries but that they were ones that come and go with periods so no need to do anything.
Anyway last Tuesday evening my doctor rang me - they have late surgery - and said I'd been discharged from hospital but that they said I should get cysts checked and I need an ultrasound , I had to ring the hospital for appointment.  Got appointment for next week but now I'm thinking could it be something more than cysts ? can they tell from a ct scan ? Also been having really bad back ache at night as well as hot sweats  are these symptom of the menopause or am I just imagining things ?
Getting myself a bit worked up

Of course you are worked up!    ………. when were you discharged?  Could you ring your GP and ask what the worst scenario is likely to be?

Do take someone to the appt. with you.

Thanks for the reply.  I had the CT scan middle of September, got results and saw my doctor in the middle of October she said all was ok come back in 3 months for another blood test to check iron levels.  When she rang last week she said she'd had a letter discharging me from the hospital but the consultant said I should get cysts checked out.  You know how your mind goes into over drive

So why didn't the Consultant re-call you to Clinic  ……….

My brain whizzes round at the least opportunity    …….

I think maybe because the consultant I've been seeing was a Colorectal (sp?) specialist and the ultrasounds are done by the gynaecology department ??

I was a bit worried as when I saw the doctor about 5 weeks ago she said everything was ok but now all of a sudden I've got to have this scan but hopefully she's just being very thorough, I've not been bloated or had any spotting but my periods are a bit hit and miss and I've suffered with endometriosis over the years.

Sometimes you feel a bit stupid worrying but it just helps telling someone about your fears  Don't like to worry my OH or daughter as they would worry twice as much

Cysts come & go and are all part and parcel of peri and post meno... I have had both, I really do not think, you should get worked up about it...

We do worry though don't we  ……… too many nights not sleeping, too may thoughts whizzing round the brain  - doesn't take much to set me off!

At least you are being followed up, maybe take a list of worries to your appt.?

Sparkle, have just come across this thread and your posts have really set my mind at rest. I had a cyst on my left ovary which has got smaller according to ultrasound scan but last time the lady said I've got little ones popping up all over the place which she thinks is all down to hormones. I'll have another scan in 3 months but in the meantime I've got a gynae appointment next week and I was a bit worried about that. You sort of want to know what's going on but at the same time don't.
It doesn't help when during peri your mind works overtime as others have said and you end up thinking you have a long list of things that have got to be wrong with you!
Anyway I feel reassured and not so worried now. x

Thank you, it really does help to get advice from others 😄 definitely think lack of sleep makes things seem a lot worse 😄
