, it becomes the "same old same old" display I walk past for 4 months, so I'm less inclined to buy as it's currently too early, and then just old and boring.
Yes for Xmas 'stuff'. Xmas goodies, however, are a different story and much harder to ignore 😋🐽

Like the hot cross buns my hubby bought home the other day, which are now no longer an Easter treat 🙈

Whats your favourite Christmas treat then? I do love a mince one, but my favourite is probably a chocolate yule log, one of the type you need to keep in the fridge!

Oh Penguin
I love all of the things you mention and, as for Christmas cake, I could eat it all year round (marzipan included). And, as a slight aside, if I’m at a wedding and the cake is sponge or chocolate, I feel cheated   >:(- heavy fruit cake with marzipan and soft icing (none of that royal icing that threatens your fillings)

Fave treats for Xmas?
Definitely Yule Log. Just have a plastic robin on top and icing sugar ' snow '

We call that season Cheesemas,  because we both put on weight very easily, so most of the year we have plastic half fat cheese, but blow the calories and have  a multitude of full fat cheese. Cut the eating down to just 3 days now,so fully pig out. Oh and Twiglets.  Gotta have a . family bag size to myself!!! And mad flavoured coffee, particularly Yule Log! All the run and very few built trips!

Oh god cheeses, I'd forgotten about cheeses. And the fact I then spend most of January dealing with the resultant constipation. We've usually gone to at least one Christmas market, which is where I buy said French or German cheeses, which hubby moans about as they stink the luggage out 🤣

Buy proper cheese not processed!  Too many additives in processed foods.  Proper cheese is more filling to economically we don't eat as much at one sitting  ;)

What do you mean by not processed? We buy traditional German Munster, French comte (the older the better) or their lovely unpasteurised cheeses 🧀
