Lucy has found a new home after being found in a wheelie bin:

The Scottish SPCA said: "Lucy's new owners tell us that she has made their house back in to a home again after their last cat sadly passed away.
"Lucy has already rightfully claimed the sofa.
"We are thrilled that Lucy has now settled into her loving forever home with her amazing new owners in time for a very happy Christmas."

Happy Holidays Lucy  :-*

Lots of lorry drivers will be stuck both sides of the Channel as the UK is literally closed for business.  Hopefully some will help those caught in Operation Stack with hot drinks, loo breaks and conversation.  From 1 January no one is allowed to take food to or from mainland Europe.

10,000 lorries per day cross the channel daily! not sure if that's under and over ......... and if it's both directions.

Do not panic buy!

£MK Scottish shell food stuck at Dover destined for France and Spain.  Well, mayB sell it to people in the UK? instead of it straight onto iced vans which then go to load it into the bigger trucks?  The various UK Chefs tell us to buy local but if fish/shell fish isn't available ...........  >:(

This variant strand of covid seems to be a problem in areas where there are strong links to Europe eg tunnel in Kent and ferries in Portsmouth, suggests that it could have come from Europe and identified here. So France closing its border is not going to help.

As well as Brexit - getting their own back  :-X

Hopefully the Red Cross will step in to support any drivers stuck on this side?

Royal Mail are not delivering parcels until after C.mas due to staff isolating, lack of delivery personnel and a 4 week backlog.  Hopefully most cards will get through.

Some people are leaving their decs up until eve of Feb 2nd ie Candlemas as per some ancient tradition! There was publicity about it around Jan 5th with the usual discussion about 12th night.... ::) - so if its still up (your tree) - then it can stay for a few more weeks yet!

I can't be bothered to haul our tree from the corner  ::).  Most of the decs are away but always leave my New Year Wreath on the front door until mid-Jan..  Not that anyone notices.
