changes can be scary, even when we want them

I've been to antique fairs this morning and people keep wishing me a 'happy C.mas'
. Please don't. I do not like the build up nor am I in the mood to be charitable. No one knows what is in the background of my Life right now even though we meet these people every month. Transient. Not even a 'happy New Year' ..........

Went to find the cards but didn't get as far as the attic. Found paper to wrap present with instead. I keep taking my temperature
1 down, 5 to go . Then I may think about fetching the cards and front door wreath from the attic.

Still haven't put tree or decorations up.
I'm so bad, just because I'm not keen on Xmas, I SHOULD still make an effort.
And I will, tomorrow or Wednesday.
Everywhere's getting more and more chockablock, dread to think what is going to be like
in a couple weeks time. 🤨 Should be used to it by now, it's the same every year...🤨🤬

Anything in particular? Seasonal? Tia Maria ........ long, over ice with a mint leaf?
I ought to get started in Feb., knowing how apathetic I feel from mid-September

A Church has been torched:
St John the Baptist Church in Melbourn Street, Royston
: so it can't be opened for C.mas Worship
. What is wrong with people! If it ain't lead from the roofs ....... I am not a believer but do love our historic buildings whether they be Churches, Cathedrals, Country Homes, Graveyards ......... what bothers me is that the Church will be launching an appeal to rebuild, what's wrong with the Ch of England paying out?

Only wrapped gifts that were delivered to family. Need to find/take the time to get everything wrapped for the kids. Most of the decorations are up...not thinking we will be getting around to the rest. They are the outdoor decorations so not as big of a deal. I do miss seeing them when I drive up though. It's not often I go out right now, too cold!
Shopping is done! I love when I have finished that and can just enjoy the season! Miss when my children were younger...they would get so excited. Youngest is still a bit excited...teenager...well he's a teenager about it all.

. I don't know whether to laugh or cry
3 weeks ago DH ordered heating oil, we were told it should be delivered by today. No message yesterday to say yeah or nay so he rang the Company at 5.00 p.m. to be told that our order wasn't on the lorry for today, that it would be 'delivered B4 C.mas'. Yeah right. YIPEE - an excuse not to go away ? as I wouldn't leave the house unheated. We have various electric heaters but I wouldn't consider leaving those on whilst not here. We have the wood burner and an electric blanket but I would have worried so about the pipes freezing ..........
However: 20 mins. ago the delivery arrived
............ bugga
So looks like I need to wrap the rest of the gifts, ready to take away.
