I think he had bipolar - such a talented man.  Dreadfully sad.

I just read about this on DM, feel really upset. I first saw him in "Mork and Mindy" and though him so funny and likeable, from then on any film with him in it I knew I would love.

He struggled with depression and drugs from a young age and did seek help for it. I think that in the end it was his choice.

So very sad.

No one else like him.

Now at peace.  Many comedians have a dark side.

So sad that someone who supposedly has it all, doesn't.  Depression is hell.

Agree Trey - depression is hell  :'( ……… and actors have to be 'up' all the while particularly when in the public eye.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news this morning. But as you said CLKD, many comedians have their demons and sadly he must have felt he couldnt fight them any more.

Mrs Doubtfire is one of my and my sons favourite films and he loved it so much when he was small that even now, both of us can quote almost the whole script with the accent too. So funny - and we were looking forward to a possible sequel next year. " Ooh noo dear, I don't need a hand, I need a face!"

RIP Robin

Too many addictions to beat - very sad - he had received lots of help over the years but it was just all too much and he had just had enough of battling I reckon.
