How long have you had cystitis donnarob? This coupled with the back spasms and chills could point to upper urinary tract infection rather than lower.  I didn't even link my back pain to kidneys but that's what it was. Hope you feel better soon.

Glass.half.full - have you had your thyroid tested at all? As well as the other suggestions there may be something else going on that needs checking out.

Hi Hurdity, so sorry for the long delay in replying - in the throes of moving house!  Need I say more? Lol

I had my thyroid checked last year which was all normal.  Actually had it checked because I was gettinguite a few of these episodes.  Have had about a year between the last one and the one this month so thought they were a thing of the past.  This time it coincided with ovulation (or lack of) so I'm wondering whether it's a peri symptom.

Have had a good 3 months of 'light' peri symptoms then bam! They start up again.  I'm still struggling with the "am I really experiencing peri symptoms or is it all in my imagination?"  " should I go on HRT - shouldn't  I?"  Fed up of not feeling myself that's for sure!!

Hope the move went well!

Sounds like it's probably too early for HRT. Most women absolutely know they are peri-menopausal and have symptoms that they can't cope with before taking the plunge - such as hot flushes, night sweats, maybe dramatically up and down moods including low mood/anxiety, vaginal dryness along with irregular periods!

If you are wondering if it's all in the imagination then probably sounds like you can cope for the time being!!

Just enjoy this stage of life while you can, and deal with menopause when it becomes more noticeable - and certainly if the episodes of chills become more frequent I would get these investigated too.

It's frustrating isn't it, not feeling yourself, but concentrate on making sure your body and health is in the best possible state as you embark on this next stage.

Hopoe that doesn't sound too glib - not meant to be!

Hurdity your advice isn't glib.  It's thought provoking and honest - just what I need.   The peri menopause issue is very confusing that's for sure.

Have a great day :)

We pay monthly for boiler care.....It's paid for itself time and again.
