Your GP/Practice Nurse MUST send off your urine sample so that the correct anti-biotic is prescribed.  You may be brewing vaginal atrophy which can mimic urine infections so you may benefit with treatment if the sample doesn't 'grow' anything.

Hi Anjia. I suffered repeated UTI's in my early fifties and my doc never mentioned meno problems. I was on a low dose antibiotic every day to keep them at bay when I found out about the early stages of vaginal atrophy. I mentioned this to my doc who then prescribed vagifem and everything was then fine. No more need for an antibiotic.

Have a look at the various vaginal atrophy threads here.  I think mine is called 'My Bladder etc.' will bounce it.  SuzyQ also has a good take on the subject!
