Has anyone seen the "Green Mile" starring Tom Hanks, it's a brilliant film, I've watched it loads and thats unusual for me, as usually any film watching once is enough.

I've managed to see the last hour of the Green Mile twice so I went out and bought the DVD about 6 months ago.  Still sitting in it's wrapper 'cos I haven't had time to watch it yet  :sigh:

Some great films on here though I couldn't sit through the Abba one, not a fan!

So, here's mine ...

Green Mile
Shawshank Redemption
Goodfellas (bit violent but Ray Liotta excellent)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (love the battle scene at the end when the dwarf gets thrown .. brilliant!!)
Toy Story 1&2 (haven't seen 3 yet)
Shrek 1
Brief Encounter (huge Noel Coward fan)
The Mission

Also love Johnny Depp  ;D

My favourite film of all time (currently) is This Is England, I love all the cast (particularly Woody) and the music and the message, although there is some violence in it, it's so powerful. And I enjoyed the This is England 86 recently on the telly.

I'm not one for musical theatre really, but Cabaret (again dark, great songs) and Guys and Dolls both enjoyable.

I waited years for the chance to see Clockwork Orange, banned for so long and when I finally did, I had to turn it off after about 15 minutes as the violent scenes were truly appalling.

Here's my list

Last of the Mohicans
Meet the Parents
Meet the Fockers
Toy Story 1 & 2 (asked Santa for no.3)
Bridget Jones (both)
Coyote Ugly
Anna & the King
All of James Bond franchise but Casino Royale & Quantum of Solace (wonder why  ;D )
White Christmas
Elf
Bad Santa
Shaun of the Dead

Can you tell I like a good comedy.

Would take too long to list all the films I'd like to see more than once but Lucky Stone's post reminded me of the film which most affected me, which was "Scum."
Saw it at the cinema around 1980. In those days there were 2 films shown together and this was on before the one we'd actually gone to see. It was amazing - so powerful and shocking. Never before have I been in a packed cinema when there has been complete silence when the lights went up. We left - along with many others - without seeing the main film as we just couldn't take anything else in. Don't regret seeing it - it was probably less violent than many modern films but so affecting. Led to an investigation of Borstals, I believe - something worthwhile coming out of such upsetting images. Starred unknown actors - amongst them a very young Ray Winstone.

Ooh, Ray Winstone Bixby, one of my faves .... the scene with the billiard balls in the sock ... "I'm the daddy now". Very powerful stuff! Think they did one about a female borstal as well, can't recall what it was called?  Winstone is a Hammers fan of course, well someone has to be in these dark times ...
