sorry annedenmark you use your oestrogel every day and then add in the Utrogestan for 12 days.  I must be more careful how I explain. Apologies  ::)

Hi All,

I too am really confused. I have recently changed to 200 mg prog for 10- 12 days a month - that's a calendar month. i am now wondering if I am doing it wrong too.

Another thing is is that i finished the progesterone 8 days ago and still no withdrawal bleed.

Thank you

I'm also keen to know the answer to that, Birdy.

I'm post meno but on a sequi regime (studd - 10 days of 100mg, 3 pumps) Last month was my first utrogestan.  Was fine for the 10 days but found the withdrawal really horrible.  Wonder if a conti regime could work for me. Really scared to try though as I know progesterone builds up and if I find out I can't tolerate that then I could feel awful for ages.   I know your question was about 200mg (which I don't know the answer to) but wondered if you had any experience of a 100mg every day regime?

Do you birdy?. Feel better with 200mg prog a day? Mad eh....how it can be horrid for some bit great for others. Do you think this was what was maybe missing for you - more progesterone? X

Could any one advise me the ratio of pumps of gel to use which would be similar to Femseven patch sequi since not being able to get these patches now , I'm really not having same affect from gel . I too have 2 pumps of gel and continuous utrogestan - days 1-25 I am post meno libido non existing too . Maybe testosterone is needed the longer your into meno ? I know progesterone can drop just as much
The ratio is so difficult as your messing with hormones all the time to find what suits best 😔 any advise I'm 52 ...

Hi there. I've recently started on 0.5mg Sandrena gel and 200 Utro. I was feeling better on the Sandrena and then started the Utro on day 15 - now I feel terrible. I'm taking the Utro at night as I thought it would help me sleep but instead I'm getting cortisol rushes and awake all night. I'm more anxious and panicky than before and only on day 7 of the Utro so 5 more days. A menopause specialist told me I'm sensitive to progesterone so should either get a Mirena or go to 100 Utro every day. Has anyone got experience of these options? I'm scared of taking Utro but I'm wondering if future months could be better so to stick with it? This is my first month after all. Thank you for any advice x

I never got on with Utrogestan, it made me feel really ill. People told me to persevere with it but the side effects never got any better, even though I was only taking it for 7 days. Mirena could be an alternative you could consider  x

Thanks Tracey E. Are you on 100 Utro now? I'm wondering if that would be better. I can't face 200 tonight and wondering if I can just do 100 until day 12. x

Morning ladies

Please advice

I was on estrogel 2 pumps and recently 5 days ago change to estradot patch 75 as I wasn't obsorbing the gel well and tried to increase to 3 pumps but felt it elevated my aniexty, I don't need progesterone as hysterectomy and no ovaries all bloods fine . I rubbed the gel on inner thighs my main reason for stopping the gel was hair thinning bloated constipation and fatigue ! But on the estradot all is great but still shedding hair intact more and last day or so been having a glaze over my eyes which happened before on elleste solo patch and vision went blurry I'm wondering now though if I jumped the gun a bit and should of persevered with 3 pumps and maybe tried on my arms rather then thighs for less bloated ness and I also experienced fat deposits on my legs where I rubbed the gel but don't want this on my arms rather it on my legs. other then the patch effecting my eyes I feel fine on it although I think it may have triggered the alopecia on the nape of my neck as that's the bulk of my hair loss and receding hairline behind my ears .

What do I do I'm in a pickle want to give up but I'm only 40 and need hrt

Hi SammieJane - how long did you use the gel for before you gave up?

Ladybt28

I was on the gel for 7 months but three months into it my estrogen level was 195 and then 6 months went to 104 but I remained on 2 pumps as couldn't handle the three but the patch my hair is shedding more is this due to more of surge in hormone ?

I'm post menpause I was so only on the 100mg of Utrogestan. I'm not taking any HRT at the moment. Just waiting to see if my hormones settle down.

Hi. I've been using Oestrogel 3 pumps & 100mg Utrogestan daily (orally) for a few months. However, as I continue to feel tired and lethargic with bad brain fog, wanted to try only using Utrogestan for 12 days (200mg vaginally) and put up with a bleed. I'm on day 4 of this regime and experiencing really bad PMS symptoms, physical & emotional. Also woke up with a night sweat last night which hasn't happened in ages. I can't stand this for another 8 days but feel I have no choice. Getting through work today has been extremely challenging too. I'm 56 and post menopausal by the way.

PMB63 - As you have only just changed you will probably find that there are some side effects.  For the first 2 months of using utrogestan on a cycle I had cramping and PMT like symptoms but by month 3 and thereafter it settled.  I still get depressed and a bit teary by days 7-8 but I know that it is going to go away.  I don't have many alternatives but by and large it is a regime that has pretty much given me my life back.

I am post meno and aged 57.  I am on 4 pumps of gel and 12 days of utro 200mg vaginally.  The whole regime took 6 months to get rid of pretty much all my symptoms and believe me I had a lot.  Its easier to say what I didn't have  ::)  The first 3 months were the worst and it seemed to get a little worse but then got a whole load better.  I was given testosterone after 4 months and that made a considerable difference, especially to fatigue and brain fog.  Are you on testosterone?

Hi ladybt28

Where do you rub the 4 pumps of gel and is this all at once or do you wait for 2 pumps to dry before applying another 2

Thank you for your comments Ladybt28. That's giving me hope that things may improve in time. As you say it's early days still. I don't take any Testosterone by the way. When do you apply your Oestrogel?  I use mine in the evening after my bath, but I now wonder if that's not a good idea as it may hinder absorption.  Should I perhaps try applying it in the mornings, as I love my evening baths. Thank you again for your advice. It's very much appreciated xx
