Of course dotty. It's all any of us can do. But it is so helpful for those like me starting out on the journey. Mine was surgical so overnight. But I hadn't even considered how bad it would be. And when it was I googled and became so overwhelmed. I have mentioned on here b4 about a site which realy affected me negatively with the agenda 're surmeno. I didn't realise it at the time but it was damaging.
So I try not to go Google crazy now. It was so counter productive for me at a fragile and vulnerable time.
It has made such a difference for me Being on this forum.and hearing other ladies stories like yourself.
Thank you.

Struggling so much on the gel.
I seem to be getting new meno symptoms. Back pain. Bladder is worse than ever. And feeling so exhausted. Hot flushes came back when I switched from patch to gel too
I had to abort a walk this morning as my back and hips were killing me and my legs felt so heavy.
By this afternoon I felt exhausted, sick and feverish and shaky.
I had to go to bed. And I'm still here. Yet again too nausea to eat dinner and too anxious to sleep but too tired to do anything.
After 5 months on hrt i seem to be getting worse not better.i didn't expect new symptoms.. I know as eastrogen drops these things can come into play but I realy hoped my eastrogen would be heading in the other direction.
So thoroughly sick of hoping each new day will be better and it isn't.😭

How much gel are you applying?
I've had to reduce my Oestrogen to 1 pump a day because my breasts have become so sensitive.

Hiya ladies thanks for your replies.  I'm applying 4 pumps.

The reason i upped it to 4 pumps is cos i still have terribke depresssion and anxiety which i guess could also be progeztetone.

I do feel like I'm not getting enough eastrogen though. VA is not being controlled by estriol cream and I've got hot flushes and very dry skin. I've t.these things might point to low eastrogen.as could depression.

I guess the only way to tell is to stop the progesterone. I might be one of those ladies who cannot take it continously.
I have a gynae appt Friday after next and I'm having blood tests before. My eastrogen was virtually nil in December.

I think I wasn't able to give the patch enough of a chance   I was on femseven sequi and had issues with it staying stuck which I believe is why it has now been taken off the market.

To be honest if the gel isn't working I think
I would like to give a differe t patch a go.

4 weeks is not a long time.  It can take up to 3 months to see improvements and maybe longer than that to see full improvement.

I was on hrt tablets (1mg and then 2mg) for 4 months before starting the Oestrogel.  The tablets did nothing and I was getting worse.  It took about 6 weeks to see any improvement on the gel.  xx

Thanks dotty.
Part of the problem has been that I see the gynae she prescribes and then I've had trouble with gp getting scrip. I waited over 4 weeks to switch to gel. So when I go back to gynae it hasn't had long enough to realy tell how it's working but then I have to wait another 3 or 4 months to see gynae again so if it isn't working I'm stuck with it (my gp won't change anything without gynae letter)
.why did you switch to the gel dotty?

were you 4 weeks without any hrt?  If so, that's probably why its taking a few weeks for the gel to work.  The oestrogen has to build up to a steady state.

I swapped because the 2mg tablets weren't helping my symptoms at all.  I needed more Oestrogen x

Oh. I see.I wondered if you switched cos of side effects.
No I wasn't 4 weeks without I continued on the patch until I got the new scrip.
But 3 months to see if it's working is now out of sync with my gynae appointments.

I think I'm going to have to get the gynae to put a back up plan in her letter to gp. To say if it's not working I can switch to a patch and to say which patch. It's the only way gp will ever change anything! And after this appointment on Friday I'm not even sure if I will see the gynae again as she is an oncologist.

Hi TC...I've just looked quickly at your posts and a lot of what you describe sounds like oestrogen deficiency.  I had terrible nausea; lack of appetite and couldn't eat.  All of that went once I was on the right type and dose of hrt.

I've never had side effects with hrt.  What I experienced was that the menopause symptoms were breaking through when Iw as on tablets as the oestrogen wasn't high enough.  I thought they were side effects of the tablets, but a specialist explained to me that they weren't.  Side effects get blamed for  a lot of things when it's actually the menopause symptoms themselves. The specialist told me not to give up on the hrt and to give it time to work.

I must add that I'm not a doctor and can only go on my own experience and I think your case is different to mine anyway. (am I right that you are in surgical menopause?).

I hope I'm making sense. x

Total sense Dotty. Thank you for taking the time to look at my posts. So kind of you.
Yes. I'm in surgical meno. I wasn't given hrt for the first month after and I crashed.

I tend to think it is low eastrogen as well.i can almost feel as though my body is crying out for something which is lacking.

So glad you got your hrt sorted eventually and felt better  it gives me hope xx

Hi guys!

I must be one of the lucky ones(famous last words lol)

I have been going super slow with dosing, as per Gyn instruction due to breast cancer in the family.
I'm just having one pump 3 times in a week so, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Had the best sleep I've had in almost a year from the first day's dose only. Continued to see improved mood and ect for the 2 the weeks I've been on it. Tough have some tummy bloating, don't know what that's due to, any ideas? Taking my 1st Utro tmrw, and like Dotty has taught me, I'm being positive so it'll go just fine ;)

Good to hear you have seen an improvement Turkish delight.
Someone else might have an answer about tummy bloating.
I have got bloating but  i I had pelvic surgery almost 6 months ago so I can't be certain it's not the after effects of that rather than hrt.
