Pumpkin is easy, DH cooks them with other roasting veggies - buy a medium sized fruit; cut in half, scrape out seeds and keep to set next year ;-) - wash the outer skin, turn face side up on an oiled baking tray. Pour a little olive oil over the face side and add a little black pepper. Roast until the fruit is soft. If it's a good quality pumpkin even the skin can be eaten. Any left over can be fried the next evening. The other half keeps face side down keeps in the fridge. Pumpkins keep weeks in a cool area, turning to make sure that the side touching the shelf doesn't go 'off' or mushy. Give it whirl :-). [this is from me, who doesn't cook
]
There are lots of types of pumpkin ........... I think our village is doing similar for kids to tick off on a list.
Don't know what it might be this evening. DH hasn't said

How long do shop bought eggs keep?
I've cooked
8 fairly fresh eggs up for the wild birds: 2 went back to Feb. the other 6 were in a box from April.
