 :sunny: but far too dry! Was 28 in the shade around midday and still 26 at 8 pm. I love the sun - buit we had ne'er a cloud to be seen - just wall to wall sunshine! My flower garden is parched, the roses are wilting and petals dropping off, as are the lupins and hollyhocks. My annuals need constant water as do the outside tomatoes in pots. In fact I have been watering most of the day! Veg garden also parched. Washing up water, handrinsing water, shower water (before it runs hot) - any water! We really haven't had any rain to speak of for weeks! I know when it comes ( jet stream going south) we will have wind clouds and rain for days so this is lovely - just wish it would pour with rain overnight and magically clear up by morning. When I watered the front garden the wall was so hot that it vapourised/steamed as soon as I watered onto it! It's like being in Spain.....

Although this morning I got up to grey sky and a sort of mist but that was 7.30 hopfully things will improve.

I remember using my twin tub rinse water for our garden/s.  In that hot summer of 1976.  Again in 198? and the 1990s.  Then I had to buy an automatic, I grudge all that water going down the drain  :bang:.  I bought lots of watering cans to decant the rinse water into, occasionally it missed the buckets but that meant that the floor got washed  ;D.  The trick is to pour the water onto the root system - lots of.  I go round with the house every 3/4 days here, or if something begins to wilt.  Rain is forecast!

Warmer than I expected. The calm before the storm I think. The garden is too big to water but most things seem to survive. I like pots but avoid them on the whole because I don't want to water them

I planned to get rid of pots.  But because plants that I like disappeared I have put more into pots ....... so the area around our ponds is stunning  8)

We did similar around the pond in our previous garden and I loved it but this gardens a bit big for bothering with the extra work it entails. There's lots of other lovely things to look at though

Have you noticed since they started to name them we seem to have more storms than usual :( .
