Have you tried Nytol? It seems to work mostly for me, and without the hangover.
I also take Phenergan sometimes, it's very good but it does have the standard foggy after effects, although if I get up and get moving they disappear really quickly.

Thanks Still Searching and Tulip for your comments
I’ve now taken Mirtazapine for 6 weeks and feel calmer and sleep is very much better most nights.
Side effects increased appetite and not being able to shed the few pounds I’ve put on as easily as I could before.
Some constipation even though I do eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and porridge.
Occasionally I feel a bit fuzzy minded first thing.
However at moment these are manageable and being able to sleep is wonderful

I noticed a bit of constipation with mirtazapine, I sorted it with magnesium at bedtime and ground flaxseed on fruit and granola in the morning.

The magnesium I take is citrate which is good for constipation and I take a good dose. 400 mg elemental magnesium. Maybe up your water intake too, orange juice, coffee etc
