I've just joined the forum. I'm 49 and started with signs of perimenopause a couple of years ago. I've been on hrt for well over a year but last September I felt like I “fell off a cliff†physically and mentally, with various things including utter exhaustion, brain fog, aching joints, depression. I saw a menopause specialist recently and she has increased my hrt dose slightly.
I really hope it works, as I've been in hell since September. Having kept physically fit and healthy all my life, never smoked and hardly drink any alcohol I've been devastated that the menopause could literally destroy my mind and body like this overnight.
