Thanks for the advice and suggestion.
Tranexamic acid have lessened my periods. Instead of going to the toilet nearly every 1-2hours for the heaviest days, I can be more relax and change 3-4 hours. They don’t fill the whole pads, so I’m not completely soaked. Slight watery and dark red colour. No thick, heavy clots, sometimes scares me!
Even though I have no periods at night, but I still get up around 4-5am. Sometimes find it difficult to go back to bed. I have tried going to bed early, but keep turning and tossing in bed. Last time I only had 4 hours sleep!
Do you have a brand of yoghurt I could try? What about probiotics in food or supplements?
Thanks

Sorry about your bee problem. My friend has a colony nesting in a disused chimney each year but they've not been any trouble.
I think that honey bees and bumblebees make their hives and nests from wax so maybe they were carpenter bees you saw chewing wood? They nest in holes in wood? Taz x |

Can any one recommend a good probiotic please?
And can anyone advice how long to take them for? Also, any advice, info, etc, on them would be great. Thank you |

Hi cazb78
Sounds peri menopausal to me too. Mine were all over, from spotting to full on floods with or without clots, lasting anywhere from 1 day to weeks, and having 2 or 3 'periods' a month, to skipping months completely. |

Weight gain isn’t a symptom as far as I’m aware?
Sweats - a fan and I take veoza a new non hormonal drug ( available privately only). Anxiety - CBD tincture/ gummies/ propranol. |

Right, sorry I thought you were on utrogestan - with what I said, I mean I would just increase E and keep whatever you're doing with P the same. You could get your GP to check E bloods again after a few months (preferably during your period when your own E is lowest) but it's not likely to go stratospheric.
Some fibroids grow on estrogen and some really don't at all. Currently there is zero understanding about why some do and some don't. No idea about being slim, but I'm also quite slim and absorb poorly, so maybe you're onto something. |

Hi Rhm,
Firstly welcome I had a full hysterectomy last November, with ovaries removed. I was in hospital 5 nights and was very well cared for during that time. Upon waking, I was sore, but not in pain. By day 3, I was up and out of bed, sitting in a chair. Day 4, I was waking up and down the corridor. They do handle the bowel, so expect a fair bit of wind and a temporary change to your bowel habits. My scar is neat and hip to hip. First few days, I pottered and rested a lot. My appetite was reduced for a week or so, but soon returned. Each day I grew stronger and more mobile. Six months on and I’ve regained all my energy. Today I’ve been up and down ladders cleaning windows, gardening, jet washing etc etc. I am not allowed oestrogen due to a health condition, but I’m sure you will be offered HRT ( unless it’s unadvisable?). If not, you may have to either seek out a menopause specialist or tackle each symptom individually ( hard work but doable!). You will feel normal post surgery, yes. It is major surgery and you do need to allow yourself at least 3 months recovery. Some hospitals send you home with a fit note for work. Even if you feel well after surgery, please don’t overdo it. You are still healing internally. Take an extra long phone cable into hospital with you, a straw to drink from, snacks, water and gum/ mints / sweets ( you can get a really dry mouth!). Best of luck 🤞 Any further questions, just ask 🙂 |

Sara, you have to understand that the advice to increase P when you increase E is on the assumption that women are actually absorbing the E well and therefore their serum levels are going up. If your serum E is 150pmol then you're not really absorbing it. Other women out there are on 2 pumps of gel and 100mg utrogestan and their serum levels are 450pmol. They don't need to increase their P. Because they are only on 2 pumps of gel. But their serum is 450..... this is why looking at dosage rather than serum levels is insane. Thanks. That all makes complete sense. I am quite slim so wonder if lower body fat on thighs reduces E absorption? I am currently at week 10 of 12 without any progesterone and just started the two week provera phase (10mg daily for 14 days). I’ve not experienced any progesterone intolerance yet but only on day 5. I’m a bit scared of getting back on utrogestan continuously at 100mg due to my horrible time after 6 weeks which nurse put down to P intolerance. One other issue is I’ve got two fibroids (5cm top, 1cm back wall). I’m also worried that they will grow bigger if I increase E? |
