buffy, it's good you'd found something that works but I'd encourage you to try raising your estrogen more and seeing if you really need the amytriptaline...

Newson tell me (several doctors there) that I need to get between 450-600pmol. Whilst some women might be ok at 450, some might need it higher than that. Of course other women are fine much lower, with symptoms, but I think it's us who don't absorb well that need more. I think a lot of these symptoms are due to fluctuations.

I know my E isn;t high because I'm not getting any breakthrough bleeding, or sore boobs and even when I stop P for a few nights to allow a bleed, one isn't happening... even on 11 pumps of gel.  ;D

I last tested at 6 pumps when it was 320pmol or something like yours. I need to re-test before I switch from the gel to something else, so I know where I've got to for reference...

Hello Ladies, I'm New to this forum and hopefully looking for some reassurance.
I am  55 yrs old and am post menopausal.  I have now been on HRT for 2 yrs. Just under 2 weeks ago I started to get really painful breasts, feeling  very full like when you are about to have a period. I decided to reduce my 1 pump a day of oestrogel to half a pump.i continued to take 100mg capsule of utrogestan a night. I then went away for 3 days and decided not to use the oestrogel but continue to take the capsule. After a couple of days start sporting. A little brownish discharge after wiping. I go back to using the full pump of oestrogel but continue to have spotting. It has got heavier and last night looked like a proper period. I made an appointment with the doctor this morning and he has said he will put an urgent referral in on the cancer pathway to be seen in 2 to 4 weeks. My question is could it be related to the HRT doses missed even though my prescription is relatively low ?

Thank you CLKD. So nothing to worry about . I’ve been telling myself this since Saturday but then have bouts of panic!
Was yours like a Papercut ?

There is a thread on weird dreams ...... I'm often arguing with DH but that never happens in reality.

Been to the dentist.  One back tooth is crumbling  :o which means another appt = that jab!  Back via the supermarket, home for light lunch.
Laundry whizzing round. 1 load should be dry enough to bring back inside.
Planning the next gardening tasks - Chelsea begins tomorrow - which means digging out a shrub to give it's neighbour more space: but where to put that shrub  :-\ ::)

Yep.  My GP advised Anusol applied liberally then wear panties at night.  I have used Savlon successfully too.  [less embarrassing to ask for at the Chemist ;-) ]

Nowt is OTT on here, nor silly nor stupid .  Ask away.  As hormone levels rise and fall different parts of our bodies may become drier  ::)

I can't say as I couldn't tell a difference but I don't think I was absorbing well anywhere.

I went from thigh to lower abdomen and it helped for a few weeks but then the allergy caught up to my belly! I tried leg again but that really reacted badly so then changed to gel and utrogestan, originally orally but after a two months when to pv as my mood was very low. I'll never know if it was due to oral progesterone or low B12 or low oestrogen and the timing of all have been within a couple of months.

Hoping the switch of area works for you!

I've no idea how many sachets you'd need but I swapped last week and happy to share my experience so far.

I went from 2 pumps am and 1 pump pm to 1.5mg Sandrena. I tried one sachet first just to test it, it wasn't enough. Next day I did 1.5 am and had a rush and headache 6hrs later. So that was too much in one go for me. So I've settled on 1 sachet am and and half pm.

Whether that's enough to bring my levels up time will tell, I'll ask my GP if she'll retest in 3 months and hopefully she will as we want to protect my bone and cardiac health as my microvascular angina is thought to be oestrogen linked.

Best wishes with your swap!

Are you using both patches and gel?
I found oestrogen worked great at first but the good feeling never lasted, as others have mentioned recently in another thread, it stops working quite quickly for some.

There are alternatives, I seem to be the only one on this forum currently on tibolone. Doesn't seem plausable, does it? I'd guess noone else needs assistance with tibolone and just gets on with life, or they don't find support here, but some people aren't allowed it.

I'm NHS, so don't know about numbers and blood tests. What I do know is in recent years I tried four brands of oestrogen and five progesterones, all HRTs, including some combined products. All of them felt very unbalanced and emotionally chaotic.

In total I've been 13 or 14 months on tibolone, had to stop it for a while, then started again.
I feel better on tibolone than I have in years, end of story.

What's a finger **** test?
