Why?  :-\

Here are the lyrics..

I know he's not real but I'd love to be
That ginger wizard whose name is Ron Weasley
Yeah that would be sweet
It doesn't matter that he's not the coolest,
It doesn't matter that he gets things wrong sometimes
He still gets his girl
Can you imagine the fun you could have with a magic wand
And the knowledge of potions
And though I'll never be a wizard I'm still happy to be me
And have plenty to dream of

Cos there are thousands of things that I would like to be
But I'm not cos I'm just me
And I won't get down and I'll try not to frown
Cos I am what I am and I've got what I've got and that's fine

When I was young I used to count the stars
And wonder if it would be me that would walk upon mars
Yeah that would be sweet
I read each book I could about space travel
And watched the shows on the discovery channel
They used to call me a geek

Can you imagine the fun that you could have in a spaceship
With zero gravity
And though I'll never be a spaceman I'm still happy to be me
And have plenty to dream of

And isn't it fun to believe all the things that we can do when we're dreaming
And if I could make them come true then I'd probably still find reasons for moaning
though I believe what was said by Doc Brown,
"If you put your mind to it you can achieve anything"
No amount of effort will ever make me be
A wizard or a jedi or a time travelling doctor
Or a hobbit or Spiderman or the President of America

This is from last night in Oxford. In the past six years I have only heard this played live once before but I really like it. It is only recorded on someone's phone and she does sing a little at the beginning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynZImNLwpLc

Enjoyed this, this morning. Part of the Other Voices festival, Dingle, Ireland. I thought maybe next year, but only 70 people can fit in the old church in which it's held! Think Frank Turner is there too

Thanks for that oldsheep! Yes, I know a bit about This is the Kit. They were at 2000 trees festival this year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oml7uexP1wA

Do you mean Frank is there this year or will be there next year - he gets around that boy - I see he is in Belfast tonight.

No idea Taz! Their website is confusing. There's a YouTube other voices channel. He performed Wessex Boy there at some point!

I enjoyed this too, Richard Hawley doing the Velvet Underground
YouTube app on iPad can't (share doesn't have post link as as option) copy links so hope this works

thanks Taz, I'll keep a beady on that one. I love your friend's piano playing.

I've been listening to JJ Cale to cheer me up on these dark winter days. Only guy I'd cross the Atlantic by row boat to see live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AILZ6EeNeBE

Andy Williams - Almost There.
Heard it out of the blue today - one of my late mum's favourites. What a treat.

Andy Williams has one of those evocative voices that take you back, never thought he would grow old and die.

I remember mum swooning over him.

I love listening to this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuawmvWDygk  He's a really interesting person - his lyrics are very strange at times.
