I play that one so often Taz as it lifts my spirits and the absolutely beautiful children.  I love the opening with the first lad going across the room, a future star perhaps.  I love the humanity of the band.

Glad you like it Trey! The teacher is Frank's mum! He was more nervous about playing in her school than playing Wembley Arena  ;D

thinking back to when I was so happy living in France. OH and I went to a 2 1/2 hour concert by Francis Cabrel. It was wonderful. He's a singer-songwriter who is hugely popular in France
This song I like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VW7VqGn_Nhg

and this is a cover of Dylan's Shelter From The Storm. I love it. It reminds me of the happiest 2 years of my life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6uVSLlcQlE

mellow tonight
this, from Mark Knopfler, is one of my most favourite songs. I heard him perform it live, just him and his guitar.

Thanks for the mellowness Old Sheep.

I am quite taken with this young band, Dry The River. My son supported them last year and they have now got quite a following. If you like ballady folky indie stuff they are worth going to see. I think they are playing Epsom Racecourse this month. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxJmvd68h7o&feature=related  lyrics here http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858861109/

anyone else find their emotional reaction to (some) music changes as they get older? I used to find this Albinoni/Giozotto adagio unbearably sad. Now I love it; it brings peace to a too-active mind

Must be something mellow in the air. Haven't listened to anything pop -y or upbeat in days

I have been waiting for my emotional reaction to violins to change but, unfortunately, I still can't bear to listen to them. I do keep trying though. We have classical music playing in the classroom and I find it really difficult to stay in the room - a little embarrassing as it is supposed to bring calm to the pupils!

I love classical music (light) I think I was the only teenager I know who use to browse the classical section in HMV.
To this day I still find it relaxes me. OH knows when I've had a heavy day if he gets in the car and find Classic FM tuned to the radio  ;)
