Femseven Conti - knowledge/experiences?
« on: January 16, 2026, 10:30:58 AM »

Hi all

I asked a question about Femseven in my last post about something else but thought I'd post it separately too.

I think micronised progesterone might be badly affecting my mood. I took the Pill that had Levonogestrel in for about 25 yrs and it didn't badly affect my mood. So I was wondering about trying Femseven Conti as that also has levonorgestrel.

But it doesn't seem to get mentioned often. Maybe it's not prescribed much.
I know the patch is only changed every seven days, I don't know if that is why?

Any knowledge/experiences much appreciated.

Have you considered either a mirena or separate levonorgestrel tablets? These are available in the UK as norgeston. They are only 30mcg so  you may have to take multiple to achieve a therapeutic dose.

Trying to keep a patch on for 7 days is a non-starter in my opinion. If anyone managed this the first thing I would do is check for a pulse, as a warm, active body that is showered regularly is incompatible with this.

If you could get an adequate supply there's no medical reason you couldn't change them more often but this could be expensive and may not be funded by the NHS or insurance.

Hi Bombsh3ll.

The Mirena sounds like it could possibly suit me but I just can't convince myself. It's not just the actual insertion but living with an object inside that might try to migrate. I'm not a squeamish person normally but this just unsettles me!

I will look into levonogestrel tablets as I had heard not of them before, so thanks for that.

The Evorel patches I have now stick well for 3/4 days but as you say I think 7 days would be tricky. Plus how does it deliver a steady dose for that long.

I used femseven while estradot was out of stock but the oestrogen only patches. I found them ok, gave me more oestrogen and stayed on better than either evorel or estraderm. I didn't notice a drop on the last day. If you find it lifts tattoo film is a cheap solution. I have a mirena now and for me it's good.
