No period since July, now boobs are sore ?
« on: December 14, 2025, 11:34:16 AM »

Hi ladies, not on HRT at the moment, I do have sequential patches and progesterone tablets here, but scared to take as I'm already low iron and it will cause bleeds every month 😞
So I've not had a period since July, but this last 7 days or so my boobs have started to become sore. Do you think a period is looming ? 😥 Probably be a heavy one right on Christmas day knowing my luck lol 🤣

Sod's Law at work? It could well be a period coming. But post menopausal I still had symptoms of a cycle but no bleed, so fingers crossed.

Probably hormones preceding a bleed.

At least U will have an excuse not to Host ;-).  Which symptom would you like to ease 1st with HRT?

Periods have been optional since about 1965.

It is such a shame that you haven't started your treatment due to that particular regime's potential to cause withdrawal bleeds.

If you want a bleed free regime, tell your provider. They work for you, and any treatment prescribed should fit your individual needs.

Unfortunately fingers uncrossed, I've just been to the toilet and I'm spotting 🤦

Ironically I've just started spotting right now 🤦 I was hoping I was in full menopause 😔
Symptom wise, insomnia is my main one, no libido, hair loss and fatigue, but my thyroid is playing up as well so it's hard to know what is causing which symptom.

They did suggest a merina coil but I'm a bit reluctant as I react strangely to.progesterone, utrogestan keeps me wired and wide awake even vaginally. I have provera here to try when I decide to start HRT back up.

You can take provera continuously.

Most women will be amenorrhoeic with continuous provera even if they haven't yet become postmenopausal.

It is your choice whether or not to entertain either menstrual or withdrawal bleeding.

I didn't know you could take provera continually hmm, that's if I get on ok with it, I've heard some horror stories !
Well apart from a bit of watery spotting yesterday I've had absolutely nothing since then ! Blooming hormones 🤷🤦

It's that. Hormone upheaval.  My periods waxed and waned for several years; monthly then I would miss, probably several months.  At the end of each period I would miss 2 days then have a brown staining because there wasn't enough hormone to drive the periods onwards. Normal 4 me.

It is suggested that we need to have 12-14 months bleed free B4 we can even consider that we might be into menopause proper, literally the last bleed.  However, Mother Nature can throw in that curved ball and we. have 2 begin counting again  ::)

How do U feel overall other than expecting a period?  For several years after mine disappeared my body would give me symptoms and I would think "Oh NO! not after all this time!" but it was those ovaries pumping out a bit of hormone.  Still  ::)

How often to you get your iron blood levels checked?

Put bluntly I feel crap, lethargic, aches and pains, I go through bad flares of digestive issues. But I do have lots of other health issues, pituitary tumour so my prolactin is double what it should be, I'm also getting low thyroid T4 now as well.
My ferritin level is pretty low at 19, but my haemoglobin is classed as normal. I've lost over 70% of my hair over this last couple of months.
Had more spotting yesterday, but it's pink in colour, then by the evening it had stopped 🤷
