Mood changes in early stages of taking HRT
« on: November 13, 2025, 05:15:17 PM »

Hi I’m new to this, the forum and HRT lol.  I made the jump to start taking HRT as I am perimenopause.  I am 45 years old, Periods, stop for months on end, trouble sleeping, night sweats hot flushes Anxiety.  I was prescribed an oral progesterone 100mg tablet to take at night for 14 days, and Evorel 50 which I’m on constantly.  I noticed my mood changes, like rage since I started taking two months ago.  I spoke with my GP who changed this to Progesterone micronised vaginal for 14 days to see if this helps.  Has anyone experienced severe mood swings when starting the HRT?  It’s like I have raging pmt but constantly!  The other  things like night sweats hot flushes have really calmed, but these mood swings are wild!  I’m hoping this is normal and if so how long can I expect this to last before everything settles?  I’m honestly thinking of sacking it off altogether, but know I need to give it time.  2 months on HRT so far.  Any help really appreciated.  C
