Merina coil/bleeding
« on: November 04, 2025, 08:58:22 PM »

Good evening all,
I’ve recently had the merina coil fitted as part of continuous HRT & an attempt at making my periods lighter or (preferably) stop due to iron deficiency
It’s been 5-6 weeks now and I’ve been spotting and/or bleeding since day 3 which seems to be defeating the object somewhat!
I’m aware that this will take time to settle down however how long do I give it before becoming concerned that this isn’t suiting my body as my checkup isn’t for another 4.5 months
Anyone with similar experiences?
Thanks in advance
Claire

I know, it's really hard, but they say 3-6 months. I've had it almost 4 months and I'm still having some issues but it's reduced. Also my dose of estradiol has changed twice since starting HRT so I guess that might be contributing for me. Hope it settles down for you sooner rather than later.
