Norgeston is the brandname for the mini pill containing levonorgestrel. So, have you ever tried a pill with levonorgestrel in it, like microgynon 30 for instance? Since that is one of the most prescribed birth control pills, you might have taken it at some point. I don’t respond very well to levonorgestrel myself (even in the mirena), but you might get along fine with it.

However, since you responded great to Yasmin, Slynd is probably going to work fine for you, as it has the same progestin in it. I recommend sticking with Slynd for at least 2 months before switching again.

While it is good to have alternatives ready, you are going overboard in my opinion, everything hormonal needs time to settle.

You would have to take 5 x 30 mcg tablets daily to achieve a suppressive dose of levonorgestrel and/or adequate endometrial protection.

30mcg provides birth control only, primarily by changing cervical mucus.

Birth control products should not be used as endometrial protection without understanding the difference in dosages required for different indications.

So if my maths is correct then you're saying a person woukd need at least 150mcg to suppress ovaries? And if this is so then why is my slynd so high at 4000mcg...it gave me bad fatigue yesterday I was very upset said to partner and even rang 2 chemist's to ask is this a high progesterone they both saud yes in comparison to others .... I dont do well on high doses of anything and it's jjst got me wondering wether you coukd use a pill cutter just to cut it down slightly I've done this before with other medications.  I have 2 pill cutters here....I can't see why 4000mcg is necessary because I had the same progesterone in my yasmin pill and it was 3000 never a problem. But this is causing more tiredness. ....I think I am going to cut to see how I go .it may just do the trick because yesterday was first day of no anger after weeks of it be ause I found out my yasmin pill wasn't working i guess yiu may say dont but i need to try at least for going back tk work purposes ....it wont kill me im nust looking fir a solution so i can go to workba week on.mondsy without as much tirddness hopefully if it works cutting it down to 3000 was my aim. Please reply 🙏 xxxxx

Hi levonorgestrel and drospirenone are different synthetic progestins so dosages are different.

You can eat a lot more carrots than chocolate for the same amount of calories (sadly 😜)

Same principle.
