Currently trying a new combo on my wavy-curly hair: Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-In Conditioner (in addition to the rinse off one I use after shampooing) & Elnett Heat Protect Styling Spray.  Very pleasantly surprised with results so far  :).  Using these two together before blow drying, hair has been much more manageable, feels silky rather than coarse & so far no frizz, though yet to test in damp weather.  I don't use straighteners, just a large diameter round brush.  Time will tell whether this works well in the long term.

Hi Dorothy,

Hope you’re ok.

I used my elasticizer for the first time earlier tonight, as I had more time for a full shower and hair wash. I don’t know if I fully did it right as I didn’t have a shower cap, so wet all my hair first and massaged it into my full head, then left it about 20-25 minutes before I got in the shower and washed my hair. I bought the small bottle to start with for £12 and used about a third of a tube (my hair is medium length).

I must say, on finishing drying and straightening, my hair already feels softer, silkier and shinier than it has been. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or if it shows results that quickly but normally parts of my hair feel coarse, wiry and lots of breakage and it doesn’t appear to feel like that now. How often do you recommend using it was it once a month? I’ve also got a little bottle of the maintenance conditioner too which I’ll use in between. Thank you again for the recommendation ☺️👍xx

Hi LittleClaire

Yes you will notice results from the 1st try. For sure!

I put a towel round my shoulders then spray water on my long straight hair to just dampen it so its all wet but not sopping wet! Then I do section by section making sure all hair is covered. I avoid the roots and my fringe. Its mainly for the length. You dont need to absolutey plaster it on. Just enough so hair is covered by it.

I put it up in a turban towel (you dont have to use shower cap) and get on with chores or watch telly....The longer you can leave it in the better. You can actually sleep over night in it

In the shower.....just use warm water first to take excess product off. Then go in with shampoo and conditioner.

I definitely notice a HUGE difference. My hair is easier to blow dry. Its soft smooth and a better version of itself.

You can use it once a week.....or I tend to use it when I have a special day out or occasion. But at least once a month.

If you get highlights in your hair...its advised to not use it in the few days before. Dunno why?

But yeh.....I love it

I buy mine from QVC when they have easy pay in 4 or 5 installments. I've just bought 3 x 75ml and that will last me a good while. It helps with cost coz its not cheap.

Enjoy xx

Interested in why 1 would use shampoo/conditioner after a treatment?  I wonder what the differences are between each product?  Most being with 'aqua' anyway  ::).  I tend to use either conditioner or shampoo ........ [and need the back cutting, I can manage the fringe]

Thank you for the tip about wetting my hair with a spray bottle and using a towel to wrap it up. I literally put my head under the bath taps and completely soaked it  ;D

I’ll give it another go this week. Yes you’re right if it’s a treat then buying the smaller bottles makes sense. I wanted to try it first as the bigger bottle was £40 quid plus just incase I wasn’t keen but it’s definitely helped. I may ask for one of the bigger bottles for Xmas.

CLKD I would always wash my hair after a treatment or I’d feel like my hair was full of “product” and not clean. Just personal preference I suppose ..

I would be inclined to use less product and stand under the shower to rinse with warm water.

There's an article in one of the Sat papers about different hair products/treatments but I feel that they were 'selling' an idea which may not be beneficial.

The key reason you must use Philip Kingsley's Elasticizer before shampooing is that it is specifically formulated as a pre-shampoo treatment designed to be deeply absorbed into the hair cuticle, and then effectively rinsed out without weighing your hair down.

Hi Dorothy,

Yes! Dried out hair, hair loss and dry and bumpy skin on thighs was one of my earliest peri-signs. I use HRT and sulphite parabens free shampoo and conditioner. It's great, silky hair again.
