Question re Vaginal estrogen/ intrarosa post BC
« on: October 03, 2025, 11:14:36 AM »

Is it ok to use vaginal estrogen on outside and intrarosa on inside if you have had BC.

Already using intrarosa which is excellent inside but doesn't do anything for outside. Tissue outside still very dry and sore even though I use plenty of moisturiser.

I will ask my gynae when I next see her but thought I would see if anyone else has similar problem and uses both.

The information in the BSSM Position Statement might help you decide.

Use it.  This should have been discussed prior to investigations  ::) - again no joined up thinking?  VA treatment is a very small amount of active ingredient and keeping the area less itchy is important.

Which symptom would you like to ease first?

Soreness around very old episiotomy scar  and generally outside....
really burns  when I pee!

Biggest problems are soreness and frequent UTIs.😟

I think that U will find regular applications will soften the tissues and ease symptoms.

As for the episiotomy scar, mayB gently rub a moisturiser there as well, mayB in the morning and lunch time again to keep the area supple.

Occasionally even now my appendectomy scar from 1991 itches so out comes the Nivea  ::)
