Boric acid pessaries
« on: September 20, 2025, 07:40:09 PM »

Hi has anyone had experience of using boric acid vaginal pessaries for thrush? (I have a fluconazole resistant strain called Candida Krusei)

If so, were they helpful and were they are any bad side effects? I ask because I tried a clotrimazole pessary years ago and I nearly went through the roof, the burning pain was so severe! Hence my anxiety about anything with the word acid in it lol!

Not entirely sure if the same thing but,  many years ago, I was prescribed iodine pessaries for frequent recurring thrush. They were like little brown waxy bullets. The relief was instant. So much so, that I've never thrown them out! Probably over 15 years old now but I still keep them just in case!
