Periods have re started
« on: Today at 11:59:46 AM »

I’ve been on mini pill for years as it stops my painful ovulation and periods.
I have adenomyosis from pregnancy.
Been on high dose hrt inc testosterone for 5yrs, i’m 46 and felt pretty balanced except the odd bleeds which they say are from ademomyosis.
Ive just had my 3rd period in 3months! Last month i took 2 mini pill every day but still just had a period. Why would they start back up?!
Not asking nhs meno clinic as they threatened to stop my hrt few years ago when i mentioned hip & tummy pain (found it’s from adenomyosis and i have shallow hips).
What can i do to stop periods?! I’m going to explore private hysterectomy options i’m that fedup :-(

I would be really surprised if a double dose of desogestrel taken for longer eg 3 months or more wouldn't shut you down. This would be my first go to if tolerated.

Secondly, and I can understand you not wanting to stick your head above the parapet if you are receiving a therapeutic dose of estrogen and testosterone through the NHS, but you could pay for a private ultrasound to see what is going on.

I don't know if an IUS is an option for you but that is generally good for getting rid of bleeding.
