Hello, everyone!
This is my first post here.
I’m 45, and I think I might have a prolapse.
Especially in the evening, I can feel a lump in my vagina. It’s close to the vaginal opening, but it’s not sticking out.
When I lie down, I have a hard time finding the lump, even when I use my middle finger.
The lump is worse when I’m near my period (I still have periods, but I’m pretty sure I’m in perimenopause.).
I usually don’t have any problems with incontinence. I only peed myself once, when I had a bad cold and had to cough a lot. I have the feeling I have to go more often than I used to though.
I’m also constipated. It gets worse near my period which might also be a result of hormones. Once I was so constipated that I had to manually remove my stool. I felt a firm lump inside my rectum.
It lines up with where I feel my cervix vaginally when I sit or stand.
I feel like that makes it harder for me to have a bowel movement.
About five years ago I had a huge fibroid removed. I could feel it in my vagina, and it was making me constipated as well, but this here is different. The fibroid didn’t get better when I was lying down, and I could feel it when I was touching my belly. It made my belly hard.
Now, my belly is soft though.
I plan on making an appointment with a gynecologist asap, but there’ll likely be a waiting time of a couple of weeks until the appointment, and I’m worried.
A part of me wonders if this might be something more serious, after all.
Has anybody experienced something similar? Do you have any advice for me?
